Idris is the character name for Dexter, a reenactor with the Society for Creative Anachronism. I found him at the North Alabama Renaissance Faire in Florence, Alabama.
According to Dexter: Idris ibn Tariq Al-Maghribi was an Andalusian warrior. Idris is a Tuareg living in the territories controlled by the Almohad caliphate. Warriors often wore their kaftan over their armor. Each sleeve has a Tiraz band embroidered with a different poem about falconry in Arabic. The demi gauntlets also have Andalusian poetry from that period painted onto the wrist.
